Angela Scoular Biography

Angela Margaret Scoular was a talented British actress known for her appearances in both the 1967 comedy Casino Royale and the 1969 Bond film On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. Ruby Bartlett was one of Blofeld’s 12 ‘Angels of Demons’ and became a Bond girl after 007 visited her room after she wrote her room number on his leg in red lipstick.
As well as starring in a Bond movie, Scouler made a name for herself in the film industry, showcasing her versatility by playing various characters in films such as A Countess from Hong Kong, Doctor in Trouble, Wuthering Heights and The Adventurers.
Angela Scoular’s television credits were equally impressive, with roles in popular shows such a, The Avengers, Coronation Street, and As Time Goes By.
Despite her successful career, Scoular struggled with personal demons, including depression, alcoholism, bipolar and anorexia nervosa. She was diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2009, which left her fearing its return in the months leading up to her death. Horrifically, Angela Scoular passed away in 2011 after ingesting acid drain cleaner.
Angela Scoular was married to actor Leslie Phillips and she had a son called Daniel.
