Anthony Zerbe

Anthony Zerbe, born on May 20, 1936, is a renowned American actor with a career spanning several decades. Hailing from Long Beach, California, Zerbe’s love for acting was sparked by high school stage productions and only grew stronger after he graduated from Pomona College and served in the United States Air Force.

Anthony Zerbe honed his craft at the Stella Adler Studio in New York City and made his stage debut in 1961. His versatility as an actor has seen him play a wide range of characters across television and film.

On TV, he appeared on numerous shows, including Naked City, The Virginian, Mannix, and The Rockford Files, the Mission Impossible TV series, and The Rockford Files among many others [see below].

Kraken

On the big screen, he is known for his iconic roles as Matthias in The Omega Man, one of the Molly Maguires in The Molly Maguires, and Toussaint in Papillon. He also portrayed villains, such as Milton Krest in Licence to Kill and Councillor Hamann in The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions.

In addition to acting, Anthony Zerbe has made his mark as an artistic director, leading the Reflections, A New Plays Festival at the Geva Theatre in Rochester, New York. He has also won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Continuing Performance by a Supporting Actor in a Drama Series and was seen on Broadway as Benjamin Hubbard in a revival of The Little Foxes.

Anthony Zerbe has been married to his wife Arnette Jens since 1962 and they have two children.
