Colin Salmon starred in 3 Bond films

Colin Salmon, a talented actor and musician, was born on December 6, 1962, in Bethnal Green, London, and grew up in Luton with his sister Trudie Salmon. His Jamaican roots and Sagittarius sign may have contributed to his passion for creativity and expression.

In his youth, Salmon discovered his love for music and formed the punk rock band Friction with some friends while in high school. He played the drums and performed in and around Luton, even releasing an EP and cassette-EP.

Colin Salmon’s musical interests also included singing and playing the trumpet in various bands, including Catch, a Luton-based band in the mid-1980s. He continues to play jazz and perform with his own quartet in venues such as the Dorchester Grill Room and the Cheltenham Jazz Festival.

Colin Salmon’s acting career began in the early 1990s, with his first appearance in the British TV series Prime Suspect 2. He went on to work on other British TV shows such as Lovejoy and Soldier Soldier before breaking into film with Captives in 1994. However, it was his was role as M‘s Deputy Chief of Staff, Charles Robinson in the James Bond films Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough, and Die Another Day that brought him worldwide recognition.

Colin Salmon’s extensive work in film and television also includes appearances in Resident Evil, Alien vs. Predator, Bad Girls, Doctor Who, and Dinotopia, among many others.

Salmon’s work as an actor allowed him to take on a wide range of roles, from playing a client of a call girl in Secret Diary of a Call Girl to a killer/businessman in Death in Paradise. He even participated in the tenth series of BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing, where he was paired with professional dancer Kristina Rihanoff. Salmon was also recognized for his reading at VE Day 70: A Party to Remember in Horse Guards Parade, London, in 2015.

Salmon married visual artist Fiona Hawthorne in 1988, and they have four children together. Despite his busy acting career, Salmon remains active in music and continues to perform jazz and play the trumpet. His dedication to his craft and passion for the arts make him a unique and talented figure in the entertainment industry.
