Paloma: Not a Bond Girl But The Perfect Ally for 007
Paloma is a Cuban intelligence operative, and currently employed by the Central Intelligence Agency. (CIA). Ana de Armas, a Cuban-Spanish actress, brings her portrayal of this minor character in No Time To Die (2021) to life, delivering an explosive and unforgettable performance that has left a lasting impact on the Bond franchise.

After agreeing to Felix Leiter‘s request to help retreive the captured scientist Valdo Obruchev, James Bond is told to meet Paloma at at the El Nido Bar in Havana, Cuba.
To Bond’s surprise, Paloma tells him that she has only had three weeks of training, although she exudes confidence in her abilities. Bond is sceptical but together they collaborate to infiltrate a SPECTRE party held in the city.
They soon discover that the event is a trap designed to capture and kill Bond. 007 suddenly finds himself in a spotlight, targeted by nanobots derived from Project Heracles, although nobody knows at the time that Obruchev had reprogrammed the nanobots to kill SPECTRE members instead.
Paloma effortlessly dispatches multiple adversaries using pistols, machine guns, and martial arts, and amidst the ensuing chaos, she and Bond successfully apprehend Obruchev, while managing to evade Nomi, an MI6 agent with the same objective.
Afterwards, Paloma escorts Bond and Obruchev to where he needs to be, before bidding him farewell, and concluding her involvement in the mission.

Ana de Armas, a Cuban-Spanish actress, began her acting career in Cuba before moving to Spain and eventually Hollywood. After gaining recognition in the TV drama El internado, she made her Hollywood debut in the film Knock Knock.
However, her breakthrough role came in Blade Runner 2049 as Joi, the holographic AI girlfriend. In 2021, she starred as Paloma, a CIA agent, in Bond 25, No Time to Die. Ana’s explosive scene in the movie garnered many positive reviews with many fans calling for the character’s return in the next Bond movie.
