Estrella: Bond’s Date at Day of the Dead Celebrations

Estrella is a minor but noteworthy character in the 2015 James Bond film, Spectre. Played by Stephanie Sigman, she’s an operative for Mexico’s intelligence services, helping Bond out while he’s in Mexico City.

Participating in the Day of the Dead Celebrations in Mexico City, Estrella is with James Bond as both are actively tracking Marco Sciarra. Spotting him in the crowd, Bond and Estrella move to a nearby hotel.

Once they’re inside the hotel room, they start to kiss passionately and Estrella appears to think they are going to retire to the bed.

However, Bond is quickly getting ready to leave and climb out of the window. When Estrella asks him about his departure, Bond reassures her that he’ll return, but after fighting with and killing Sciarra, Bond never sees Estrella again.

Stephanie Sigman

Stephanie Sigman is a Mexican-American actress, who began her acting journey on Mexican television and made her film debut in Rio de Oro. Her leading role in the 2011 Mexican crime drama, Miss Bala, earned her critical acclaim and a nomination for a Dublin Film Critics’ Circle Award.

In 2015, Sigman played Valeria Vélez in the Netflix series Narcos and gained international fame as Estrella in Bond 24, Spectre, making her the first Mexican actress to play a Bond girl in an official Bond film.

Other notable films include Annabelle: Creation, Going Under, and War on Everyone. In 2017, she joined the cast of S.W.A.T. as Jessica Cortez, earning positive reviews from critics and audiences. Later, she portrayed Sister Charlotte in Annabelle: Creation .
