Aaron Taylor-Johnson Strongly Rumoured for 007 Role

With the betting for the next James Bond changing hands every few weeks, in Aaron Taylor-Johnson it seems like producer Barbara Broccoli may have finally found her man.

Daniel Craig hung up his tuxedo after appearing in No Time To Die, and since then 007 executives launched an extensive search for the next James Bond.

Early favourites Tom Hardy and then Henry Cavill were strongly rumoured to take over the role, but it seems like their global fame and age may have gone against them.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson Now Frontrunner to Become Next Bond

With many other names swirling round the rumour mill, it seems now like Aaron Taylor Johnson will become the next James Bond.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson

The 32-year-old actor, is the perfect age and has the “not-so-famous” biography. He’s also reportedly impressed with a screen test, and had an informal meeting with Barbara Broccoli to discuss the idea.

An insider claims the meeting went very well, but conceded nothing was confirmed as yet.

“Aaron went for a screen test to be the next Bond in September and producers and Barbara loved him,’ said the insider. ‘He is now one of the front-runners.’

A screen test and a meeting is the strongest inclination Broccoli has found her man. And while we shouldn’t jump to conclusions, time is running out so any strong links like this shouldn’t meet the ejector button.

Aaron Taylor Johnson Fits The Bill

Aaron Taylor-Johnson becoming the next James Bond does make sense, going by historical precedence. Bond producers have never sought out a globally recognized star, and instead prefer to build them up.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson in Nowhere Boy

He’s been in many films, but he got his big break gracing the screen as a lead role in Nowhere Boy – a biopic on John Lennon. He later tied the knot with the film’s director Sam Taylor-Johnson, 23 years his senior.

He’s since starred in Kick Ass, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Avengers: Age of Ultron, but it could be argued that the other front runners are more globally recognised.

If former Bond George Lazenby gets his way, we’ll have a ‘good looking Aussie dude‘ as the next James Bond. In a recent interview the star who was the second to play Bond said he’d like to see Liam Hemsworth take on the role.

All other previous Bond’s were relatively unknown before taking the DB5 hot seat. And with Tom Hardy, Henry Cavill, and even Idris Elba being household names, it seems like their fame was up against them. As is their age, maybe.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson – The Next Bond?

Aaron Taylor-Johnson fits the bill. He’s got the charm, the looks, and we know he’s accomplished when it comes to action scenes.

He may have starred in some Hollywood blockbusters, but he’s not as known as the other contenders. And at 32 year old, he’s the perfect age to become the next James Bond.
