Hollywood Heavyweights Rally Behind Rege-Jean Page for 007 Role
For years, the hunt for Daniel Craig’s successor as James Bond has felt like an elaborate game of cat and mouse. Every so often, a new name is dangled in front of the public. Typically, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, James Norton and Henry Cavill are leading candidates among gossipers and British bookmakers, but another name is surfacing with increasing regularity: Rege-Jean Page.
Naomie Harris Backs Page for 007
Naomie Harris, who has played Eve Moneypenny since Skyfall, certainly seems to think he has what it takes after she expressed her support for Page taking on the iconic role.
“I think Rege would be amazing. I’d love Rege to be the next James Bond. But who knows? I don’t know what’s going to happen,” she recently told reporters.
The two actors share the screen in the forthcoming thriller Black Bag, providing Harris with firsthand insight into Page’s capabilities, and her endorsement carries weight.
Harris has spent a decade inside the Bond machine and has seen firsthand what it takes to inhabit Ian Fleming’s most famous creation. If anyone knows what makes a 007-worthy leading man, it’s her.

Michael Fassbender Weighs In
Another Hollywood heavyweight has had his say. Michael Fassbender—himself no stranger to spy-thriller intensity—has thrown his support behind Page, adding yet more fuel to the speculation.
“Well, I think Rege-Jean Page could be a frontrunner after this, to be honest,” Fassbender said. “I think he’s fantastic. He’s got all the attributes. So, let’s wait and see.”
Fassbender has long been a fan favourite for the role himself, and in the latest odds he’s 20/1 with PaddyPower to take possession of the DB5. His performances in X-Men and The Killer show he has both charm and menace, making him a credible Bond candidate.
But rather than making a case for himself, the two-time Oscar nominee appears to be passing the martini glass to Rege-Jean Page.

A New Era for Bond?
Of course, Rege-Jean Page is far from the only name in the mix. Henry Cavill, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and James Norton have all been in and out of the running, with bookmakers keeping the odds shifting as speculation ebbs and flows.
What makes this latest round of speculation particularly intriguing is the shifting power dynamic behind the scenes. Amazon MGM now holds full creative control of the Bond franchise following the unexpected departure of long-time producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson.
That seismic shift raises an important question: what kind of Bond will the studio want? Could this be the moment Bond embraces a more contemporary sensibility? If so, the suave, effortlessly cool Page might be the perfect leading man to usher 007 into his next era.
